Rev. R. Brock Burnett

Rev. Burnett was born in St. Albans, W.V. into a Christian home on October 22, 1955.
His father was a Presbyterian (P.C.U.S.) minister all his life and his mother a homemaker.
Mr. Burnett graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, N.C. in 1973 and
from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi, with a major in Bible and a minor in Christian
Education in 1977.
Mr. Burnett came under care of Mecklenburg Presbytery in Charlotte, N.C. and graduated
from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, in December 1981.
Upon graduation Rev. Burnett was ordained and installed at Lakemont Presbyterian
Church in Augusta, Georgia on June 27, 1982 as Associate Pastor for Youth Ministry.
In 1984 he accepted a call to be the Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro,
Georgia where he remained three years. In 1987 Rev. Burnett accepted a call to pastor the First
Presbyterian Church of Winder, Georgia, where he continues to serve today after twenty-five
years of ministry.
Rev. Burnett is currently a member of Northeast Georgia Presbytery where he serves on
the Budget and Finance Action Team; the Future of Presbytery Task Force; and is a mentor in the
denomination's new pastor mentoring program: "For Such A Time As This."
